I’m so glad I’m able to convey that to a non-gamer! That’s what continually catches my eye about music in games : that the musicians who composed it are multi talented and can create for so much more than a video game. I dive a bit into a similar thought in my piece on Animal Crossing from this summer, when I talked to various artists who performed covers of the game’s theme. They aren’t VG composers — they are “real" musicians (not to speak lightly of game composers), including a punk band and a classical musician, who find video game music compelling and challenging. As always, your thoughts and comments are much appreciated!
